The Project will run initially for a period of one year and has received funding from Pobal, the Department of Social and Family Affairs, and County Monaghan VEC. The project will work with legally resident immigrants in the county. There are four main elements to the project:
- Community-based English Language training
Courses will be held in different locations around the county Courses held in the mornings to facilitate stay at home mothers of young school going children. Each course will consist of an average of 15 sessions. Twice weekly.
- Community-based Anti-racism training
A series of training events will be held during 2008.
- Community-based Intercultural Events
A series of intercultural events on a range of themes will be held across the county during the year.
- Information Provision
We will make available information on immigrant rights, entitlements and responsibilities as a resource tool for new immigrant communities.
